Yuri drops Leonard’s pass and the defender picks it up. He knows this is the end of his career, but he sees Romeo in the crowd.
Romeo tells Yuri to picture the white tiles below him, and that’s what he does. When Yuri gets Gato’s pass, he beats his man with one touch and a quick turn.

White Tiles
The white tiles in front of Yuri keep getting longer. When Leonard calls for the ball, he tells Yuri not to dribble too hard. Yuri looks down at the ground below Leonard and sees more white tiles. The white tiles stretch out to meet each other, but they don’t fit together like puzzle pieces.
Yuri moves the ball further on his own because he knows Leonard won’t be able to bring it forward. He needs to find a person whose tiles match his own.
His tiles click right away with someone else’s, and Falco is next to him. Falco’s tiles click into someone else’s, and that person sends a through ball to Gato, who scores.
Comparison
Ascari says that Yuri has good sense, but he doesn’t play for the U-14 team because he made the U-16 team a year early.
He remembers how well he and Yuri got along two years ago and how living together made each of their “roles” better. Italy’s top leaders have high hopes for Demian and Ascari, Romeo remembers.
Yuri tells his friends what to do and plans to bring the ball to the middle once they win it.
Romeo talks about how football works by comparing it to a “society” where everyone works to do their part to win. Each position is their work and business.
Espanyol knows that Leonard can’t handle their speed, so they send the ball to the left wing that Leonard is defending. The player on defense beats Leonard badly, but Yuri steps in to cover him and gets the ball for Barcelona. Leonard has reached his limit, and both Romeo and Kenny know it.
