The Plot of Dear Anemone
Gory Body Horror Action is about a group of fifteen men and women being sent to the Galapagos Islands to investigate the place after the outbreak of a virus some years ago. The famous islands where Charles Darwin developed the theory of natural selection are now filled with grotesque mutants hunting for newly arrived prey. Part of the squad is a high school boy encountering a certain bizarre flower woman hybrid who might be his only way to survive. With Darwin’s law in full effect, it’s once again the survival of the fittest.

Review and Recap
The manga by Rin Matsui, who was the assistant of Horikoshi’s caught everyone’s eye instantly. Dear Anemone was already creating hype for some days on the internet. I will not reveal much information or spoilers here.
The manga theme is brilliantly set up into evolution. The evolution of life itself. The evolution of plants and animals and others. The origin of life itself has evolved after so many years and given the new species name, Evolution.
Our main character, Gaku Hachihue is on a mission to find the missing squad on an island called Galapagos which was once known as paradise. However, it has now become a lawless and untouchable island to the Japanese government.
Anemone
Gaku with others is headed there to find out the mysteries of the island plus find the missing squad. However, no one expected that the islands would be filled with monsters of every type.
Most of the members of the squad have joined this mission for the money. But Gaku has some different objectives. He wants to change. He wants to become like his old friend who once visited this island.
After fighting and getting caught by a monster, his blood suddenly turns a flower (Anemone) into a flower spirit or monster. I am excited about how this monster-based journey of his will go from here now.
The art, gore, and horror are excellent, so I’m not complaining even though it feels more like a Seinen than a Shounen. I hope that it stays in the first few months and doesn’t get axed soon.
