Previously in Chapter 244
After Yuta and Kenjaku’s combat ends on a cliffhanger in Chapter 243, the third battle against Sukuna in Shijuka begins with the arrival of Higuruma and Yuji. But before the battle even starts, a flashback shows the sorcerers plotting their revenge if Gojo falls to Sukuna.
As part of this scheme, Yuta will enlist Takaba’s assistance in escaping Kenjaku and will then return to them. Kusakabe also refers to the non-combatants as Miwa and Kamo, who each have their reasons for choosing not to engage in combat. The crux of the plan is for Higurma to join the fight once Kashimo finishes with Sukuna.
Higuruma explains to the sorcerers that he could easily defeat Sukuna using his cursed technique, but that he is taking a risk by doing so. But Yuji promises to lend a hand by suggesting ways they can add Sukuna as a co-defendant to the crimes he committed in Shibuya—and maybe even beyond. Higuruma opens his domain and gets Sukuna to co-defend for the Shibuya massacre, thus ending Chapter 244 of Jujutsu Kaisen.
