Recap of Chapter 482

Looking for unorthodox aid for her son’s condition, a frightened mother takes us on an emotional roller ride in Chapter 482 of Lookism. Vin Jin’s mother is in a state of panic as she races to find a cure for her son, who suffers from the rare eye disorder polycoria.

After trying traditional medical facilities without success, she traveled to Cheonliang to consult a shaman who professed to be able to cure diseases that conventional medicine had failed to treat.

But then the shaman reveals something shocking. Instead of a medical problem, a stubborn spirit is to blame for Vin Jin’s eye problem. The shaman says that a series of exorcisms will put an end to it.

To get the shaman to help her son Vin Jin, the mother becomes extremely angry. Unexpectedly, the chapter takes a turn once the shaman accepts.

Offering

Out of nowhere, the spotlight turns to a different child, a six-fingered middle schooler. We meet this youngster for the first time as an “offering” to the shaman’s infant deity. The villagers start throwing soul stones at the boy, Vin Jin, in the hopes that it may break the curse. Everyone appears oddly at ease with this strange and disturbing tradition.

A spectator wonders aloud whether this is a morally acceptable course of action among all the mayhem. Even though the shaman tells Vin Jin’s mom that everything is alright, she has a bad feeling about the villagers.

The mother and son encounter strange obstacles on their escape. The transportation station appears to be operational again, yet, strangely, no buses are running.

Mother against a shaman

The mother becomes more and more suspicious of every strange occurrence as a result of the town’s seeming tight control. The mother plans to smear the shaman and gather photos to use against him when she arrives at the transportation center, taking matters into her own hands.

Anxiety mounts as they attempt to hail a cab and flee. The cabbie turns out to be an accomplice who helps them escape the town. They find out the shaman’s influence and strength when they return home.

As the plot delves deeper into darkness, it becomes clear that Vin Jin is the sacrificed participant in the ceremony.

Vin Jin endured a period of agony while the shaman used his eye for the ritual. This chapter takes the form of a creepy mystery in which a concerned mother seeks out a shaman to cure her son’s eye problem.

But when they start performing these bizarre rites with another child, the mother begins to suspect that this village is anything but ordinary.
