Recap of Chapter 241
The previous chapter starts with the team leader at the police station where she is about to surrender. The police officer asked again why she was here as he didn’t hear her properly.
As she was about to say it again, she received a call from Hseung. He reports to her about Sook Young’s boyfriend who died. The team leader starts to think about whether she is free or not but then she realizes that she has just become a murderer.
Death
At the hospital, the surgeon informs Sook Young that the severe bleeding happened during the surgery. The patient’s heart rate dropped due to a hypotensive shock. They tried CPR but was pointless.
After that, the scenario shifted towards the funeral of her boyfriend, where she was sitting blankly. Next in the chapter, the focus shifted toward Hseung and Sook Young who were talking with each other.
She told him about how the funeral went well while Hseung was apologizing to her for not being able to attend it. Sook Young blames herself and says she is a b*tch while sobbing uncontrollably. Hseung was trying to console her.
Stay with Me
Then she says it’s strange because she feels relieved that Hseung no longer has anything to worry about being with her. Every time, she says, “I want to stay with him,” while crying.
But Hseung wasn’t able to accept it. Considering that they had previously done it, she wonders why. He turns to Sook Young and responds, “We shouldn’t have done it, no matter how much we wanted to at the time.”
She approaches his back and confides in him, telling him that she wants to be with him now that they are together. After that, she inquires if he can think of any reason that Hseung shouldn’t date her.
Thoughts and Conclusion
While having this inner monologue, Hseung briefly considers telling her everything that happened that night and how he feels responsible for her pain; however, he then though about the team leader.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Hseung is lying when he claims there is nothing like that to say. Instead of letting him sleep alone, Sook Young demands that he spend the night (and the night after that, too).
