Production of the movie

During Code Geass’s tenth anniversary celebration in November 2016, the three-part compilation film project revealed the sequel in the works. The sequel is reportedly under production as of August 2018. Gorō Taniguchi directed the film, Ichirō Ōkouchi wrote the screenplay, CLAMP, a group of manga artists, created the character designs, Takahiro Kimura adapted them for animation, and Kōtarō Nakagawa and Hitomi Kuroishi composed the score.

The main cast members from the TV series and the three-part compilation films were all back for the sequel. According to Taniguchi and Ōkouchi, the events in the three-part compilation film come to a close before the events of the sequel.
