Netflix is all set to release an upcoming British sports drama film named, ‘The beautiful Game’. Thea Sharrock has directed the movie, whereas Frank Cottrell-Boyce has written the story and characters. Graham Broadbent, Peter Czernin and Anita Overland have together produced the movie. Plot of the Movie
This is Netflix’s brief introduction about the movie: ‘As an English football squad heads to Rome for the Homeless World Cup, their talented new player must let go of his past and learn to be part of a team’.
Basically the story of ‘The beautiful game’ is about an English homeless footballers team. Vinny is their striker and also one of the most important players in the team, but the problem is, he is troubled by his past, which ultimately affects his play. The team is led by coach Mal.
Development & Filming
After changes in the script it was finalised that Bill Nighy and Micheal Ward will play the two main characters of the film. The development of the film was taken care of by Film4, a production company, whereas bringing producers on board was taken care of by Blueprint Pictures. The initial filming and photography took place in Rome and London in August 2021.
