Why Hinamatsuri is an underrated comedy anime?

Aside from superpowers and shonen stuff, a comedy anime feels refreshing. In this article, we will discuss why Hinamatsuri is an underrated comedy anime. There are many comedy famous anime like Gintama, Grand Blue, and others. But Hinatmastsuri doesn’t get that much appreciation. Believe me, this is criminally underrated. Let’s dive into more details about the anime.

The Plot of Anime

First, let’s look into the plot of the anime.

Nitta Yoshifumi, a young, intellectual yakuza, lived surrounded by his beloved pots in his turf in Ashikawa. But one day, a girl, Hina, arrives in a strange object and uses her telekinetic powers to force Nitta to allow her to live with him, putting an end to his leisurely lifestyle.

Hina tends to lose control of herself, wreaking havoc both at school and in Nitta’s organization. Though troubled, he finds himself taking care of her. What will become of this strange arrangement? It’s the beginning of the dangerous and lively story of a nice-guy outlaw and psychokinetic girl!

Now I will try to avoid as many spoilers as possible to provide a complete guide for an anime. The story is about a yakuza who comes to his home one day, and while resting, an egg suddenly falls on his head.

Now what’s funny is that the egg has a girl inside it. Only her face is visible on it. So now how did he respond? He responds just like a normal human being will do. He gets shocked and realized he isn’t ready to do this sh*t today.

He proceeded to go to sleep and left the egg there. As he wakes up the next morning, he still finds the egg in the same place. He gets a little pi**ed with the situation which is why Hinamatsuri is an underrated comedy anime.

In a rage, he released the girl from the egg. And then realized she had “SUPERPOWERS” The whole sequence is too hilarious here. She destroys his stuff, not intentionally. But now, he wants to get rid of her. This is also one of the reasons why Hinamatsuri is an underrated comedy anime.

As the Hinamatsuri anime progresses, they end up forming a father-and-daughter type of relationship. It’s super funny and too wholesome. Hina only shows a few emotions but always creates trouble.

Meanwhile, Nitta a tired dad, first looks extremely scary. The Yakuza features and personality is still there in it. However, he is super nice. Also, he has to suffer a lot of Hina bullsh*t throughout the show.

Despite all this, the anime is too funny with many comedy moments. Also, the anime contains long-lasting effects. If something happens in one episode, that thing is going to return later.

The anime also introduces many other characters which have their own charm. They are amazing in their own right. While one of them had one of the best character development.

That made me shed some tears, I bet you are going too. It is too emotional. I never expected this to come. This is also one of the reasons why Hinamatsuri is an underrated comedy anime.

Hinamatsuri is one of my favorite comedy anime and you should check it out too. I would rate this anime 8.5/10.
