Netflix is all set to release an upcoming American sci-fi thriller Tv series named, ‘3 Body Problem’. The series is based on a novel named, ‘The 3 body problem’ which is written by Liu Cixin. David Benioff, D.B Weiss and Alexander Woo have created this American Tv show. English and Chinese are the two major languages in which the series will be released. The production companies involved are Bighead Littlehead Production, T-Street Productions, Yoozoo Group, Plan B Entertainment and Primitive Streak. The makers of the series released the official trailer of the season 1 on Netflix and Netflix’s Youtube channel. On 9th of January 2024, the trailer was released and within the time span of not more than a month, more than 11 million people have watched it. This is a much anticipated series, because of its unique storyline and amazing cast. 

3 Body Problem Netflix release date is 21st of March 2021. The series will officially be available on Netflix, as it is the official distribution partner.

Plot of the Series

The story of the series is based on the life of Ye Wenjie, whose role is played by Rosalind Chao. Ye Wenjie is an astrophysicist, but in her initial life she saw her father get brutally killed during the Chinese cultural revolution. Eventually Ye Wenjie was taken into the military as she had a scientific background and was sent to a secret radar base far into a remote location. She made a decision there in the base which caught the attention of many scientists and impacted the whole of humanity in the present day.

Production & Filming

In the month of September 2020, Daved Benioff and D.B Weiss announced that they are working on the Tv adaptation of the novel ‘The 3 Body Problem’. The cast of the series started to get filled from 2021 August to June 2022. From November 2021, the principal filming of the series began in the United Kingdom.
