The 2nd part of Aquaman movie named ‘Aquaman and the lost kingdom’ is set to release worldwide in theatres. This is an American superhero movie, which is about a DC character. James Wan has directed the movie, whereas David Leslie Johnson Mcgoldrick has provided the screenplay for the movie. This is going to be the 2nd part of the movie and the story is written by James Wan, David Leslie Johnson Mcgoldrick, Jason Momoa and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett.
The 1st part of the movie named Aquaman (Home is Calling) was released in 2018. The idea of the sequel was first given by Jason Momoa to James Wan in 2019. However, the official announcement about the 2nd part took place in June 2021.
Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom Release Date
The makers of the film released the official and final trailer on Youtube on DC’s official channel. The trailer was released on 14 September 2023 and within the time span of almost 3 months, more than 16 million people have watched it. The expectations of it reaching an even larger audience is high, because of the increasing hype about the movie and DC’s popularity.
The makers of the movie, Aquaman and the lost kingdom will release it on 25 December 2023, in theatres worldwide.

Plot of the Movie
Years have passed since the events of the first movie Aquaman occurred. Now, Arthur Curry aka Aquaman is in Atlantis, protecting the kingdom. But, now all his loved ones along with his kingdom come into danger when a very old power is released. Dave Kane aka Black Manta is behind all this, as he also has obtained cursed trident. Now, in order to achieve peace again, he will have to make his half brother Orm his ally. This is overall going to be the story of Aquaman and the lost kingdom.
Development and Filming
While Aquaman was into production in 2018, actor Jason Momoa put forward the sequel story in front of Warner Bros. Picture. Jason also showed his interest in production for Aquaman and the lost kingdom and for his involvement, he was paid 15 million $.
In June 2021, the primary filming started for the sequel of Aquaman. James Wan, the director of the film said that the sequel is highly influenced by the 1965 movie, Planet of the Vampires. Filming was initially started in London, UK, which was then later moved to Los Angeles and finally was completed in Malibu in January 2022.
Rupert Gregson Williams, who gave the music for the Aquaman, returned and gave the music for Aquaman and the lost kingdom. The official song ‘Deep End’ was performed by X Ambassadors, and was released on 17 November 2023.
The domestic earnings of the film are expected to reach between 105 million $ to 168 million $. The estimated budget of the is between 32 million $to 42 million $.
