Netflix is all set to release an upcoming limited television series, which is dark and suspenseful named, ‘Boy Swallows Universe’. The series is based on a book named ‘Boy Swallows Universe’, which is a very famous book around the world. Trent Dalton is the writer of the book, whereas the series is written by John Collee. The book is a semi-autobiographical novel and was published on 18 June 2018. It became an international best seller, soon after publishing. Bharat Nalluri, Jocelyn Moorhouse and Kim Mordaunt have directed the series. Now, let’s know more about the series in the form of its cast, plot, development and more.
Boy Swallows Universe Release Date
The makers of the series released the official trailer on Netflix official site and on Youtube. On Youtube the trailer was released on 27 November 2023 and within the time span of 3 weeks, more than 485 thousand people watched it. The expectation of it to reach an even larger audience is high, because of the popularity of the novel the series is based on.
The makers will release ” Boy Swallows Universe” on 11th of January 2024.
The series will only be available on Netflix, as it is the official distribution partner.

Plot of the Series
This is Netflix’s brief introduction about the series: ‘A young boy growing up in the suburbs of 1980s Brisbane faces the harsh realities of life, and the looming dangers that threaten his family’.
Development and Filming
The rights for the live adaptation of the novel ‘Boy Swallows Universe’ was gained by Steve Golin’s Anonymous Content. A limited series of 8 episodes was set to be made, as it was announced in March 2022. Netflix funded the project and gained the rights of distribution. There are other executive producers, which are Edgerton, Andrew Mason, Troy Lum of Brouhaha Entertainment, Sophie Gardiner of Chapter One, and Kerry Kohanskyroberts and Toby Bentley of Anonymous Content.
In August 2022, the official filming of the series began in Brisbane in which Shelly Farthing Dawe served as the main cinematographer.
