Netflix is all set to release an upcoming American thriller movie named, ‘Leave the world behind’. The movie is based on a book, whose title is also, ‘leave the world behind’. Rumaan Alam is the writer of the book, which became inspiration for the makers to portray it in cinema. Sam Esmail has directed the movie and also he has provided the screenplay. Sam Esmail, Chad Hamilton, Julia Roberts, Lisa Gillan, Marisa Yeres Gill have produced the movie. Julia Roberts being one of the producers is also a part of the cast. The makers of the movie released the official trailer of leave the world behind on Netflix site and Youtube on 24 October 2023. In the time span of 1 month, the trailer has been watched by 7 million viewers around the world on Youtube alone. The expectations of it to reach an even larger audience is high, because of its popularity.
Movie, ‘Leave the World behind’ will release on Netflix official site on 8th of December 2023.

Plot of the Movie
This is Netflix’s brief introduction about the movie: ‘A family’s gateway to a luxurious rental home takes an ominous turn when a cyberattack knocks out their devices and two strangers appear at their door’.
Production and Filming
In the month of July 2020, Netflix got the rights to the novel named, ‘leave the World behind’, on which the movie is based. Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington are both part of the cast right from the beginning of the production. Nevertheless, Denzel exited the film and he was replaced by Mahershala Ali in September 2021.
On Long Island, the official filming of the movie began in April 2022, in a house, which was designed by Upstudio. On May 19, 2022, some additional filming was done in Katonah, New York.
At the AFI fest, Leave the World behind was premiered as the opening film on 25 October 2023. After that, in very selected theatres, the film was released on 22 November 2023. Now, for the whole world, the movie will get released on Netflix’s official site on 8th of December 2023.
