Originally, Yu Yu Hakusho is a Japanese manga series, which is now going to be created as a live action series. Yoshihiro Togashi has created and written the manga Yu Yu Hakusho. The character named Yusuke Urameshi is the protagonist of the story, who in his teenage years gets killed in an accident. Eventually as the story of the manga progresses it focuses more on martial arts and battle tournaments. The manga was first published on 3 December 1990 and ran till 25 July 1994. Yu Yu Hakusho Live Action Series Release Date

The makers released the official trailer of the series on 11th November 2023 on Netflix and Youtube. The trailer has already got over a million views on Youtube alone and is expected to reach more because of the manga’s popularity.

Plot of the Series

This is Netflix’s brief introduction about the series: ‘After a selfless act costs him his life, teen delinquent Yusuke Uremeshi is chosen as a Spirit Detective to investigate cases involving rogue yokai’. 

The makers announced the live action series based on the manga ‘Yu Yu Hakusho’ in December 2020. The series will be streamed worldwide on Netflix official site on 14 December 2023. Sho Tsukikawa was assigned as the director of the series in July 2022. Tatsuro Mishima has been given the script work whereas Ryo Sakaguchi has worked as the VFX supervisor.

Many video games have also been produced based on the Yu Yu Hakusho and many of them were exclusively released in Japan only. There were 2 games which were released on Nintendo Game Boy Advance and one was released for PlayStation 2.
